A three-night stay can occupy four calendar dates. Read the arrival and departure days as carefully as the nights on board: the first or last day may also contain a transfer or visit. Do not treat every date in the itinerary as a full day available for independent sightseeing.

Compare the whole programme, not just the ship
Compare like with like before choosing between two offers. A ship name or photograph does not explain the whole holiday. Read the details that affect your day:

- Meals and drinks: what is included and what is charged separately.
- Sightseeing: the named visits, admissions and guiding arrangements.
- Transfers: where pickup and drop-off take place, and which journeys are covered.
- Optional visits and facilities: distinguish included services from extras or requests.

Keep Cairo and the Pyramids as a separate trip component
A Luxor–Aswan sailing does not make Giza a river-cruise stop. If you want Cairo, the Pyramids or the Grand Egyptian Museum in the same holiday, allow for that part of the route and the transport connecting it with the cruise.
